What Past UCF Interns learned at Mikhail Family Chiropractic

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT MY INTERNSHIP!

What I liked about interning With Dr. Mikhail was that he gives you tasks based on what you enjoy and your skill set. By doing this, it makes coming to the internship enjoyable and you are able to work on things you’re truly passionate about while gaining new experience in a setting you have not been in. I have a creative side and like to come up with new ideas on how to engage people. Dr. Mikhail allowed me to work on ways to engage patients but taught me how to do it properly in a healthcare setting. I also liked that Dr. Mikhail is flexible with the internship schedule. As a full-time student, with a full-time job, Dr. Mikhail worked with me and I was able to obtain my 120 hours to complete my internship.

Not only did Dr. Mikhail give me tasks, but he made the experience personal. He taught me many things about the chiropractic field and what it offers, taught me how the insurance works in a chiropractic clinic, and gave me valuable advice on future educational and work related goals. I loved going to the events. I was able to break out of my shell and work with the sweetest people! I liked that the experience was very laid back but I gained so much knowledge. I am forever thankful for this opportunity!

MALON BROWN, OUR UCF INTERN LAST SUMMER TALKS ABOUT HIS INTERNSHIP

I had the opportunity of interning at Mikhail Family Chiropractic and Sports Rehabilitation for my summer semester at UCF. Dr. Mikhail and the staff are amazing and made my internship a great experience overall. The atmosphere here is very welcoming from Ana, the receptionist to Dr. Mikhail himself. While working at the facilities I learned so much from Dr. Mikhail, he personally took the time out to help me with anything that I needed. In addition, I got the opportunity to learn how is it like working in a healthcare environment. I enjoyed my time here so much and learned so much knowledge from being here. If anyone asked me about a good chiropractor, I would highly recommend them here just from my experience. Malon Brown

:Boy am I glad that I picked to intern at Mikhail Family Chiropractic because I sure enjoyed my experience. Dr.Mikhail was very involved and active with my learning of more knowledge in the health care field. If something was unclear to me he simply explained it and he also gave me opportunities to bring out my own great characteristics. I was able to apply the skills I already possessed to his organization as well as learn from his organization. Learning consisted of as something as simple as HIPPA to of something as complicated to billing. Thanks for helping my mind elevate Dr.Mikhail and I can't wait to keep growing as well as apply what I know to make a difference in the healthcare field.

What I Learned at my Internship

The internship that I had with Dr. Mikhail here at Mikhail Family Chiropractic and Sports Rehabilitation Center was a great experience for me. I really liked that he let me do what I thought I would exceed at. I started doing the monthly newsletters for him and he thought I was good at them and let me continue doing them. This really helped me settle in to doing the work that I was comfortable with and focus my attention on that. He also set deadlines for my work that helped me get it done in an efficient way. I liked the way that Dr. Mikhail explained information he was telling me in a language I could understand. This helped me understand what I was doing and why I was doing it. I was able to talk to some patients and see what rehabilitation exercises Dr. Mikhail was helping them with and see improvement. I also liked how he was flexible in my hours and let me come in when I was able to. This helped because I was able to balance my schoolwork and internship to get both done with all that was going on in my life. I was able to complete my 120 credit hours in the time required to finish my internship.

I was always looking to learn as much as I could and he provided that to me by teaching me about his chiropractic work and what he does around the office. I was able to learn valuable information about the world of health care in aspects from insurance, patient information and interaction to how a doctor’s office is set up and everything in-between.  I was also able to help Dr. Mikhail with marketing that taught me what it is like to advertise a business. He helped me with any questions I had and made sure that I was enjoying the experience. I was able to meet many people and be more talkative with people at events and meet two great assistants that I worked with. I really enjoyed my time here and appreciate Dr. Mikhail giving me this opportunity!
